MATH (steaM)

Math instruction is based on the Common Core State Standards in Mathematics. Math concepts are taught using a variety of materials. The standards-based instruction incorporates manipulatives, intervention materials, and technology, providing a hands-on approach to meet the needs of our diverse population.

 

Project Based Learning... Children who are motivated, collaborative, and who demonstrate initiative towards a hands-on approach to learning would benefit from our project-based discovery approach. We offer a fun, challenging and stimulating program that involves hands-on experiences through the use of manipulatives and technology. We provide students opportunities to solve problems independently. Our newly adopted mathematics curriculum provides concept-based lessons in which students examine the “bigger” picture of mathematical ideas through project based lessons. Students learn through discovery.

 

This year, Westminster is proud to open up a "MATH LAB" to offer both Math enrichment and intervention to all of our students!
